PIAS (Purdue Instrument Analysis System)
PIAS provides basic descriptive statistics,
discriminant functionality of individual observations, and identifies which
combination of scale items has the highest reliability with the lowest number of
items. PIAS has been acquired by 26 universities and research organizations
including Pennsylvania State University; Galveston Medical School, University of
Texas; Wayne County (Michigan) Intermediate School District; University of
Montreal; Instuto Technolgico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey; Department

CAAS (Communication Audit Analysis
System)
CAAS is a collection of 14 programs which provide
basic descriptive statistics, demographic breakdowns, integration of qualitative
data, rank-ordered tables and graphs of data collected via the ICA Communication
Project of the International Communication Association. It creates tables and
text in a report-writing mode so that non-academic consumers can easily
understand a communication audit’s analyses.
PSBA (Porter-Sawko Blockage Analysis System)
PSBA analyzes information flow and structure from
network data collection, provides flow and structure data on a variety of
message topics in social aggregations. PSBA is characterized by its emphasis
upon measurement efficiency and message topic specificity; with C.A. Sawko.
(Note: PSBA is featured in “Conducting Network Analyses and Structural
Communication Analyses in the Modern Organization,” in C. Downs (Ed.),
Auditing Organizational Communication, Scott-Foresman,
1988.
FAAS (Florida Assessment Analysis System)
FAAS is an integrated collection of routines for analyzing training needs assessment developed for the State University System of Florida (SUS). FAAS was used (1985-1991) throughout the SUS before funding can be allocated to training needs in the universities of the SUS. It provides a department by department, category by category, and demographic by demographic breakdown of rank-ordered priorities for each assessed training topic.
